What Happened
The Compton City Council held a special closed session on July 14, 2026, convening at 12:36 PM. No members of the public signed up to comment on the closed session items. The council voted to convene into closed session at 12:37 PM to discuss a public employment matter regarding the City Controller position, pursuant to Government Code Section 54957(b)(1). The council planned to report out on the closed session when reconvening at 4:00 PM, with a subsequent meeting scheduled for later that day.
