By using We, the Compton (the “Service”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What the Service is

We, the Compton is a free, independent civic-information service for Compton, California. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the City of Compton or any government agency. Content is derived from public records and processed by us (including automated transcription, translation, and summarization).

Accuracy and no reliance

We work to be accurate, but summaries, transcripts, translations, and vote records are provided “as is” and may contain errors. They are not the official record. For anything consequential, verify against the City’s official records. The Service is not legal, financial, or professional advice.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account. Do not misuse the Service, attempt to disrupt it, or scrape it in ways that burden the infrastructure. You can delete your account at any time from within the app or by contacting us.

Intellectual property

Public-record source material is public. Our original text, design, and software are ours. You may share links and quote reasonable excerpts with attribution.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, We, the Compton is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
