ACTING CITY ATTORNEY

Appointed — Attorney with Aleshire & Wynder, LLP, the firm the City retains as special counsel. Pam Lee of that firm introduced him as her colleague while reporting out of closed session on April 27, 2026; council minutes from September 1, 2026 record him advising the body as "City Attorney Young." Aleshire & Wynder works under the City's legal services retainer agreements, extended for FY 2026-27 on June 23, 2026. An earlier direct appointment as special counsel, by Resolution 26,231 on April 22, 2025, was rescinded eight days later over Brown Act noticing. Measure CA (Nov 2024) made the city attorney appointed rather than elected; no permanent appointment has followed Eric Perrodin's resignation on December 8, 2025.
